Summary

The project studies the biological impact of persistent organic pollutants associated with flue gases and atmospheric aerosols. The experimental direction combines in vitro toxicology with molecular readouts, while the computational component supports interpretation of transcriptomic data and selection of candidate markers for follow-up validation.

This work strengthens the link between environmental exposure toxicology, omics-based analysis, and reproducible bioinformatics within the wider MU OmicsLab research direction.

MU OmicsLab contributes to:

  • preparation of toxicological in vitro analyses using adherent cell culture models
  • preparation of bulk RNA-seq studies based on total RNA sequencing
  • transcriptomic analysis for prioritizing candidate markers for qPCR follow-up
  • preparation of scientific presentation and publication materials

Current status

The first documented reporting period was completed in 2026 and the reported work was accepted without objections. Further outputs will be added here as public materials become available.
