The new European COST Action CardioPharmaGENET officially began its four-year programme, establishing an international network focused on pharmacogenomics and precision medicine in cardiovascular disease.
Assoc. Prof. Yordan Yordanov represents both the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Research Institute of Innovative Medical Science at Medical University - Sofia in the Action, connecting MU OmicsLab’s interests in biomedical data analysis, omics and artificial intelligence with an expanding European pharmacogenomics community.
Cardiovascular pharmacogenomics aims to understand how genetic variation contributes to differences in drug response and how this information can eventually support safer and more individualized treatment decisions.
Participation in CardioPharmaGENET creates opportunities for international collaboration, methodological development, training of young researchers and joint research at the interface of molecular data, pharmacology and clinical translation.
